Background
Alexina has been a speech-language pathologist at Cabinet d’orthophonie – Jessica Bélisle Macquart since 2021, where she began her career after completing a Master’s degree in Health Sciences with a specialization in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Ottawa. She also holds a minor in audiology. For more than four years, she has developed a rich and diverse clinical practice, particularly with preschool and school-aged children.
Passionate about her profession, Alexina has a strong interest in autism spectrum disorder. She places great importance on adapting her interventions to the unique needs of each child and regularly pursues continuing education to expand her knowledge and ensure her services remain current. She also contributes to parent training sessions offered in partnership with community organizations.
What she enjoys most about her work is seeing children progress with joy, noticing the spark in their eyes when they understand something new, and witnessing their pride as they gain confidence. Her approach is professional, warm, and creative — she enjoys developing new activities and tools to make learning engaging and stimulating.
A mother of two, Alexina is curious, enthusiastic, and driven by a deep desire to learn. She feels privileged to work in a human-centred, welcoming, and dynamic environment where collaboration and mutual support are part of everyday life.
