Background
Mylène began her professional journey in education, completing internships in secondary schools and working as a substitute teacher in both elementary and secondary settings. She later pursued her path in speech-language pathology, completing several diverse clinical placements: at CISSSO with preschool-aged children, at Ontario Health at Home providing post-stroke rehabilitation for adults, and in schools across Ontario. These experiences allowed her to develop strong clinical skills across various settings and with diverse client populations.
What drew her to join our clinic was the opportunity to work with a diverse clientele, including children with Down syndrome — a population particularly close to her heart, as she has a younger sister with this condition. She appreciates the variety and dynamic nature of private practice, while also valuing professional stability. Her passion for speech-language pathology is rooted in communication and its profound impact on people’s lives. For her, seeing a client make progress and gain confidence is a daily source of motivation.
Mylène works under the guidance of Jessica Bélisle Macquart, speech-language pathologist, ensuring high-quality care and thoughtful continuity of services.
Her colleagues and clients describe her as open-minded, creative, flexible, and deeply compassionate. In her practice, she strives to foster self-confidence and a sense of accomplishment. She values every small success her clients achieve and believes that recognizing these milestones is essential to supporting motivation and independence.
For Mylène, a fulfilling workday is one in which a client progresses and feels good about their achievements, where appointments are engaging, stimulating, and tailored to each individual. She places great importance on creating a positive and safe environment, where language support is associated with a meaningful and empowering experience.
